Congratulations to our Marathon runners

We want to congratulate our three marathon runners for their stirling efforts in the London Marathon. It was a fantastic event with great camaraderie. Online donation site, Just Giving, has announced record donation levels for this year's Marathon, and so far, Chris, Ed and Colin have raised nearly £1,500 through this medium alone. Thank you from all at the Meath.

Here is Colin's race summary: "7.30am Waterloo, atmosphere rising, chatting to runners on train to Blackheath, helicopters and cameras everywhere, hot sun, join 20,000 runners at start. Huge cheering crowds, bands playing, massive encouragement for all runners, Tshirts everywhere; 'this is for Mum', 'this is for my kid brother in hospital', Hospices, MacMillan Nurses, charities everywhere. Over Tower Bridge and I'm half way, iconic view of London. It's beginning to hurt and feel a long way to go. Into the City and I can feel every mile I have come. Round the Isle of Dogs heading for home and leg hurting so slow down. Packed, cheering crowds up the embankment. I feel like a celebrity. Into Westminster Square with a mile to go. I want to go faster - it will not happen my mind says yes, the legs say no. Past Buckingham Palace over the finish and the dream is complete in 5 hours 8 minutes and 22 seconds. I have a medal. We all slowly walk away reconnecting with the world. The sponsors have their reward and I have mine!! There is still time to donate at: www.justgiving.com/meathmarathon
