Home from Home Appeal: CANOE CHALLENGE

Our intrepid Chief Executive, Mike Keighley, is taking on a further challenge to support the Meath. He is not only aiming to canoe the Thames from its source, ten miles northwest of Cricklade in the Cotswolds, to Teddington Lock, as the tidal waters begin, he then intends backtracking to Shepperton Lock and paddling the length of the River Wey into Godalming - an estimated 170 miles, IN A WEEK!! He is going to be joined by members of his family during this time, all lending their support to ensure that Mike completes his challenge in style.

Mike wants to draw attention to the Home from Home fundraising appeal currently underway at the Meath to raise £2.3m to build a new high-needs facility for our most disabled clients. Appeal Chairman, Richard Lockwood, was the first to offer Mike sponsorship. "I take my hat off to Mike. This will be an incredible achievement and I would like to ask everyone to dig deep and sponsor Mike so that his fundraising efforts will be every bit as successful!"

The Canoe Challenge begins on Saturday 26 May 2012, a very fitting date as it coincides with the close of Epilepsy Week. If you would like to sponsor Mike, then please visit his Justgiving page: www.justgiving.com/meathcanoechallenge and pledge your support. (Alternatively, send a cheque to our Fundraising Manager made payable to the 'Meath Epilepsy Trust' and flagging it as support for Mike's Canoe Challenge).

We can't thank you enough for your support. And why not come along and cheer Mike home? Keep an eye on our website once the Challenge begins and we will keep you updated with his progress.
