Meath staff celebrate NVQ success

An awards ceremony held at the Meath on 28 October celebrated a momentous milestone in staff achievement and commitment.  More than 50% of the Meath's care staff now hold a recognised NVQ qualification, ranging from NVQ level II right up to the top level, known as the Registered Manager's Award.

The NVQ awards programme forms a key part of the Meath’s commitment to developing its staff thereby ensuring the highest possible standard of care for residents. Gordon Hennessey, chief executive of the Meath, presided and congratulated awardees, alongside two other Meath trustees.

“We are delighted that so many of our staff have achieved a recognised care qualification,” said Lorraine Burney, the Meath’s human resources manager.

“We are firmly committed to helping our staff develop as much as possible, and providing a clear and structured career path is a key part of our approach. The Meath enjoys and fosters a high degree of  loyalty. Many employees have been with us for more than 10 years and some have progressed to managerial positions”.
