Munstead Wood Teas raise more than £1,000

Our two Munstead Wood Teas have raised more than £1,000 towards the cost of social activities for Meath residents.

The first of the two annual Teas was held on Sunday 26 April and raised nearly £800. A gloriously sunny day meant hordes of people flocked to view the 10-acre garden of the former Gertrude Jekyll home, (now owned by Sir and Lady Robert Clark), as part of the National Gardens Scheme (NGS).

The second Munstead Wood Teas were served on Sunday 17 May, as part of the NGS open day. The weather was not quite so favourably disposed to us, but despite the beating rain, our volunteers proffered tea and cakes to garden enthusiasts seeking refreshment and refuge. The event raised nearly £400 for the Meath.

We pass on our grateful thanks to Sir and Lady Clark who generously permit us to serve tea and cakes as a fundraising opportunity, and also wish to thank all our volunteers who worked so hard at the events.
