The Arthouse

Opened in 2005, the Arthouse has become a vibrant and important part of our day centre and is only the second enterprise of its kind in the country. It provides a unique opportunity for people with epilepsy and learning and physical disabilities to develop new skills, confidence and self expression through the medium of art. The Arthouse brings together Trust residents and people with disabilities from the wider community.

Working alone or collaborating with others on group art works, the project develops team working skills and pride, with artists of varying abilities exhibiting and selling their work at respected galleries and exhibitions. The income generated goes back into the project and artists receive incentive payments. The Arthouse currently offers printmaking, painting and drawing, but aims to eventually expand provision to include ceramics. Visit their website at www.the-arthouse.co.uk
