Leaving a gift in your Will
Leaving a gift in your Will (also known as legacy and bequest) enables you to make a lasting difference to the lives of people living at the Meath.
A couple of years ago, a legacy of around £250,000 laid firm funding foundations for Jeffrey Court, phase one of our residential improvement programme. The eight residents who live there wake up to bright, airy bedrooms with en suite facilities and homely shared living spaces. Residents in Jeffrey Court need extra support and benefit from a range of specialist equipment. The accommodation cost £825,000 to complete.
The Meath also received a legacy during its fundraising activities for the Westbrook Appeal, phase two of its capital development programme. The refurbished accommodation now provides 11 bigger, more comfortable rooms at a cost of £1.4 million.
Legacies have played a key role in enabling us to make crucial improvements to our residents’ quality of life. There will always be a need to improve our facilities and provide equipment and experiences for our residents not paid for by statutory sources. A legacy, large or small, can make a valued impact.
Leaving a legacy to the Meath offers a tax free way of enabling some of society’s most vulnerable people live a full and rewarding life beyond your lifetime.
