We are extremely proud that a film depicting a young lady who receives assistance from the Meath through our Home Support Service was selected by the NHS to represent what life can be like in supported living on their ‘Choices’ website. Meet Elanor and her family by clicking on this link: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/Pages/supported-living-services.aspx
We are even more proud to announce that Elanor recently achieved Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in slalom at the Special Olympics Alpine Skiing Competition held in March 2016 at the ski resort of Serre Chavalier in France. She fell in love with the sport when, aged 10, she began skiing with the Aldershot Disability Snow Sports group at the Aldershot dry slope. It was onwards and upwards – or rather downwards – ever since that day!
Now with the Surrey Special Olympics group, Elanor has won many medals and is an amazing example of someone taking on the challenges she faces each day and with an iron will and one amazing smile, conquering all before her. Congratulation on your recent achievement from all of your friends at the Meath. A wonderful feat, and very well deserved.
