Residential Care

Lauren Taylor WalkerHi, my name is Lauren . I first came to the Meath four years ago when I was 23. It was both scary and exciting. I soon settled down and began to enjoy life here. After 4 years I am still happy here. I enjoy all the activities I do with my unit and the Day Centre. I have made lots of friends and we have fun. I find all the staff easy to get on with. I can have a laugh and a joke with them. We have parties and do pantomimes. I am looking
forward to many more years of fun at the
Meath

To encourage interaction between our residents and to create a homely environment, accommodation is broken down into seven separate units, each with its own kitchen, lounge and separate bedrooms. Residents are encouraged to participate in their management of their unit and frequently meet with staff to discuss social activities and plans for improvement.

Each unit has a nominated staff team consisting of a manager, senior staff member and support staff. Every resident has their own key worker. Our units cater for different levels of dependency which means that residents who have the potential to progress can move from their starting unit to a unit that offers more independence.
