Supported Living

Supported LivingThe Meath aims to encourage all residents to achieve their potential, supporting them to live a full life that is as close to normality as we can make it. We currently have three bed spaces close by for residents who progress to the point where they are ready to make this transition.

We are at the centre of a radical new phase in Government attitude to care and choice. There is a move away from residential care in favour of supported living; particularly to provide individuals with greater choice in managing and funding their own future. We fully embrace the need for change - the Meath has been responding to change for more than 100 years. We are committed to encouraging and supporting those people who live with us who would benefit from a supported living environment and we work closely with the agencies that are able to help us facilitate this.

We are currently redeveloping some of our facilities to provide accommodation that encourages the development of independent living skills. However, we feel there will always be a need for residential care for people with multiple disabilities and complex epilepsy and we continue to provide a service that embraces a range of care needs.
