Residential Services

We have nine welcoming and very special houses on-site, each of which have a dedicated manager and staff team.

This ensures both continuity of care and the opportunity for each resident to build a great relationship with their support team and vice versa!

Our Accommodation

Bradbury House

Bradbury House opened in 2015 as a dedicated high dependency house with additional flats for more independent residents. This spacious, modern accommodation has wonderful mod cons but more importantly, lots of friendly and sociable staff and residents.

Our Accommodation

Bradbury Wing

Located at the heart of our beautiful, historic main building, this spacious ground floor house leads directly to the patio and sprawling front lawn. Residents can often be found playing football outside, enjoying alfresco meals in warmer months or playing games together inside.

Bradbury Wing is currently a mixed sex house.

Our Accommodation

Cedar View

Based on the second floor of our beautiful main building, Cedar View residents have the perfect vantage point for keeping track of events and goings on in the grounds below. Inside this bustling and busy home, residents are supported by the friendly team to maximise their independence both on and off-site.

Currently a mixed sex house.

Our Accommodation

Hambledon

Located on the first floor of our beautiful main house, Hambledon residents are often found enjoying crafts, art activities and social activities together. The nurturing staff team help each resident to maximise their independence through Independent Living Skills (ILS) as well as to enjoy leisure time together.

Currently a female only house.

Our Accommodation

Thursley

Situated on the first floor of our main house, Thursley residents enjoy a calmer, slower pace of life than some of our other houses. Many residents enjoy painting, socialising at The Hive on-site cafe and day trips out to local attractions.

Currently a mixed sex house.

Our Accommodation

Jeffrey Court

Situated in a ground floor annex building, this small but perfectly formed cosy home has a wonderfully warm and welcoming family feel. But don’t be fooled…while relaxing together at home over a movie or games evening are popular pastimes, Jeffrey Court residents love to party!

Currently a female only house.

Our Accommodation

Little Meath

Situated in a ground floor annex building, this friendly household is home to residents who have diverse interests including art, singing, gardening and cooking. The nurturing and caring culture of the staff team is modelled by the more able residents who enjoy taking on a nurturing role to help support their peers.

Our Accommodation

The Bradbury Suite

Located on the ground floor at the front of our main house this beautifully kitted out suite opens directly to the patio and front lawn. Home to three residents who prefer a calmer environment, The Bradbury Suite is nonetheless sociable. Here regular visits from our friendly volunteer PAT dogs are a particular highlight for the animal loving residents.

Currently a female only house.

Our Accommodation

The Cottages

Located in the centre of our site, residents at The Cottages live in two modern female/male flats. The Cottages is home to some of our more able residents and has a strong emphasis on promoting independent living and life skills. That said, there is plenty of time for residents to enjoy socialising with friends on and off-site!

How long is the wait for a place to live at The Meath?

There is no set amount of time or ‘first come first served waiting list’. If you would like to register your interest for a place to live at The Meath for you or a loved one, please complete our Expression of Interest Form and we will be in touch. We will ask you to come in for a visit and tour and will gather information which will help us understand you/your loved one’s support needs.

The reason we cannot state how long the wait will be is because the houses, although similar, do also have their differences, such as accessibility, equipment, space and atmosphere. Because of this, when a room becomes available, we need to consider the person on our waiting list who we think it will most suit.

Can I come for the day?

We welcome day clients to take part in our day services. We have a range of activities on offer at our Skills Centre Monday-Friday between 9.30am-3.30pm and day clients are also welcome to book a place at our weekend or evening social events.

To find out more, please email admissions@meath.org.uk to discuss and book a tour, after which an expression of interest form will then be completed.

How much does it cost to live at The Meath and is there funding?

Meath residents receive funding packages from the NHS or their local county authority. What each person’s funding package covers is specific to each individual on the basis of the assessed needs of the individual. As individual needs can change, an annual review is a helpful time to raise any changes to support needs. We discuss on-going or new support needs with residents and family members on a regular basis.

We are also reliant on fundraised income in order to cover the cost of the life enriching non-statutory services that we provide.

Do you offer respite care?

Unfortunately, we do not offer respite care at present, but if you or a loved one are in need of a short-term placement this may be possible if we have a suitable vacancy. Please get in touch with us to let us know more.

What services are included for residents?

We offer a wide range of non-statutory services which are available to all residents, this includes onsite GP appointments, support from our in-house Head of Health & Wellbeing and Epilepsy Nurse, weekly activity sessions, social events and outings.

In addition, we offer other healthcare and wellbeing services on site, such as Occupational Therapy,  Sensory Therapy and Physiotherapy*. Some residents receive funding to cover the cost of accessing these services and some do not. If a resident/their family member would like to access services which are not covered by their funding package, then this can be arranged on a paid for basis, subject to need and availability.

While we are proud of our in-house health and wellbeing services, we also work closely with NHS providers to ensure that the people we support can access any free support that is available.

Thanks to our broad range of services and facilities on offer, every resident is able to enjoy the holistic person-centred care they require to live safely, independently and to lead a fulfilled life.

* Services available subject to individual care package funding.

Resident Testimonial

“Although Dominic’s physical disabilities limit what he can do, he really enjoys joining in all the many Meath activities.
