The Occam Singers

5 June 2019

Please join the Occam Singers for an evening of light choral music from across Europe, from the early 16th century to the present day; perfect for a summer evening.
The programme will include many of the most-loved English madrigals by Morley, Gibbons and Weelkes as well as mini-masterpieces from Italy by Gabrieli and Monteverdi. The sequence will also include 19th century part-songs by Sullivan and Stanford, with works by Parry, Elgar, Delius and Vaughan Williams bringing us into the 20th century. These entertaining and varied vocal gems will be interspersed with short instrumental pieces for lute and theorbo. There will also be a free pre-concert talk by conductor David Gibson.
The Occam Singers is a chamber choir based in Guildford that enjoys a reputation for high-calibre music making which reflects our love of choral singing, music and friendship and they are very kindly supporting the Meath at this event. They are also offering all Meath supporters a special ticket price of £10 for the concert
