Fundraising

Fundraised income plays a vital role in our ability to provide the quality of life that the people we support deserve.

The Meath receives statutory funding through care packages which cover the very basics of life and we work hard to deliver and fund the range of life enhancing services and opportunities on offer for the people we support.

Fundraised income supports the following non statutory services:

  • Health and Wellbeing Team- includes GP clinics, Gym Instructor, Occupational Therapy team and Sensory Therapist
  • Skills Centre – dedicated day service offering a range of skills-based weekday activities
  • The Hive on-site social enterprise cafe and social space, includes regular weekend ‘Social Saturday’ sessions to reduce the risk of social isolation and loneliness
  • Specialist equipment such as seizure safe baths or hoists
  • Vehicles
  • IT and other equipment

We also receive no income for the upkeep of our beautiful buildings and grounds. To help us to future proof The Meath for generations of vulnerable adults to come we have launched The Meath Capital Appeal.

The Meath Capital Appeal

“Care packages for our clients only cover the most basic living costs, such as housing, water, heating and food. As we are committed to enabling the people we support to fulfil their potential we must fundraise so that we can continue to offer an outstanding level of care and range of activities. We are a proactive and innovative charity but we simply could not sustain our services without the generous donations we receive from supporters. Whether you take part in a sponsored challenge, nominate us as your work place charity of the year or hold a fundraising event in the support of The Meath, every pound you raise will make a positive impact on the lives of the people we support. Thank you”

Fundraising Testimonial

“My son has highly complex care needs, in addition to epilepsy, David has limited mobility and is nonverbal, he is fed directly into his stomach by PEG. But at The Meath he is regarded as just another person and is seen for who he is. Everything is set up for David to feel that life is wonderful. “
