We all need friends! The Meath has been at the heart of the local community for many years and the people in our care
very much appreciate and benefit from the tremendous support they receive from local organisations, clubs and societies. If you belong to an organisation such as a Sports Club, the WI, a church group, Cadets, Scouts or Guides Group in the surrounding area of the Meath we would be delighted to visit your group and give a talk about the work of the Meath and Epilepsy.
Community groups have hosted Quiz evenings, Supper Clubs, Car Washes, Craft Fairs and Barn Dances and have held collections at performances. All funds raised are extremely helpful to the charity and we also often benefit from the exposure that these activities bring.
We’ve also had some great fundraising activities from individuals and we can support you if you decide to go solo with your fundraising!
Supporting the Meath is a great way to put learning to good use and we need Pupil Power! We love visiting schools to give assembly or year group talks which increase awareness of epilepsy and disability among young people in society. We recognise that teachers and students are very busy people and we therefore aim to make supporting the Meath as easy as possible and relevant to student learning. Teachers have felt inspired to fundraise by holding mufti-days and cake sales and sponsored Readathons. Older students have also felt inspired to take the lead with some entrepreneurial fundraising activities such as car washes, a clothes sale and a music evening.
