About the Meath

If you or someone you care for is living with complex epilepsy, then we are here to help…

We recognise ability so that the people that we support are enabled to live as independently as possible, challenge themselves and to fulfil their potential. This positive ‘can do’ culture is shared by the people we support, staff and volunteers alike and is palpable throughout our broad range of services and facilities.
Our very special community is located in a stunning setting and boasts fantastic facilities in central Godalming. The Meath’s beautiful Grade II listed manor house, together with other higher-needs modern annex houses and the Skills Centre, are all set in landscaped grounds. Our location is peaceful yet close to local amenities and the main line train station. We are proud to be at the heart of our local community and to enjoy strong links with the town.

The Meath recognises ability.

Our award-winning social enterprise Changing Perceptions, is to many a jewel on Godalming’s High Street. Here day clients and residents work side by side with staff and volunteers in a workshop setting to up-cycle donated furniture. The enterprise has a popular café in addition to the most colourful homeware shop in town! Changing Perceptions not only provides the people we support with the chance to hone skills and feel a sense of pride and achievement, but it also gets them chatting to customers as they serve their local community. It’s a great way for locals to support The Meath and for some, to increase their awareness of epilepsy and disability.
