249 steps. 160ft of controlled descent. 1 unforgettable day.

Abseil event
30 August 2022

Calling all thrill seekers! Take one giant leap for The Meath with an abseil at Guildford Cathedral on the morning of Saturday 20 May 2023. Not only will participants experience breath-taking panoramic views and an unforgettably daring decent, but they will also be supporting The Meath through sponsorship to raise vital funds for the charity during the cost-of-living crisis.

Lucy Miguda, Head of Fundraising at The Meath explains why this event is so important to the charity. “It’s a wonderful and unforgettable challenge event for supporters and it also offers us the chance to bring in vital fundraised income through sponsorship at an incredibly challenging time, largely due to the cost-of-living crisis. Currently funds that would have been destined for our wonderful programme of life enriching activities for the vulnerable adults we support is at risk of being drained by the spiralling costs we are all facing. Each and every person taking part in support of The Meath will truly be making a positive difference for the lives of the very special people we support at The Meath.”

Those taking part will enjoy an unforgettable day in support of The Meath. After climbing the Tower’s spiral staircase of 249 steps to a height of 160ft (49m) they can enjoy the wonderful panoramic views of Guildford. Then they’ll climb over the top to begin their descent while The Meath Fundraising and Marketing Team will be cheering them on all the way down!

Registration is £30, and minimum sponsorship is £250. To find out more or to book your place visit https://www.meath.org.uk/calendar/guildford-cathedral-abseil-2/
